A VISION FOR ALL OF US

YOUTH AND FAMILY EMPOWERMENT
There is no version of Saint Louis that thrives while our youth and families struggle to secure their basics. As an Alderwoman, I have seen first hand that this is the harsh reality for far too many.
I am in support of expanding early education. SLPS provides early education for those 3 and older but there is still a huge gap and childcare is one of the largest barriers for those in the workforce.
I will work to expand access to recreation centers. Our youth deserve safe places they can go to develop their talents and explore their interests.
I support the expansion of community schools - schools which operate late into the evening and serve as resources to the community with services from GED classes to washer and dryer access and food pantries.
I will work for the expansion of the Special School District to the City. Families should not have to leave to access the education services their child needs.
I support family paid leave policies and investments.

EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT
Our city can be a place of economic prosperity for all. We can have thriving development that doesn’t displace our neighbors, and that supports small businesses like the majority of the businesses in the seventh.
Equitable development means that developers are held to the same standards as residents. That idea is why I wrote and successfully passed TADA (Tax Accountability Development Act), which requires that developers be caught up on taxes or be on a payment plan in order to receive tax incentives. The idea was so popular that every single Alder co-sponsored this bill.
As your alderperson, I am 100% committed to making decisions about our community with our community. I have brought every project before the community to ensure there is a space for direct engagement before any vote or recommendation.
We need more resources and support for small businesses, including access to equity and loans, especially for community/minority/women/immigrant owned businesses.
I am committed to ensuring that development projects that receive public subsidies provide public benefit.
I served on the Red Tape Committee composed of small businesses that reviewed, and provided feedback on licensing, permits, city codes, zoning, etc. to ensure that City Hall has policies and processes that are of benefit to small businesses.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO PUBLIC SAFETY
Equity can’t exist without safety. Crime is one of the top issues in our city, and it’s time we take a holistic approach to public safety that involves a balance of both accountability and pro-active measures.
I stay in close communication with our neighborhood police liaisons, police captains, and police chief so that we are able to work together to ensure that residents are getting the services they need as quickly as possible.
I strongly believe in our right to police ourselves. I am a strong opponent of anything other than local control of our police department.
I support programs like Cops & Clinicians, dispatching mental health professionals, and providing resources to programs like Cure Violence and other community violence intervention programs.
I support the establishment of Public Safety Administration Point that would bring all of our first responders under one roof to improve the response times that our residents receive during emergencies.
I supported Proposition T in 2024, which created a Department of Transportation, so the city can take a proactive, comprehensive approach to our streets that is not focused solely on cars but also centers pedestrians and their safety. I am hopeful that creating this department will allow us to provide a city wide infrastructure plan for streets, and a comprehensive approach to traffic violence.
I will fight for increased support for mental health & addiction services, needle exchanges, and more.
I support the end of predatory cash bail practices that lead to those of lower economic classes being criminalized and kept in jail while awaiting trial.
-
EQUITY AND INCLUSIVITY
Our city should be a place where all of us can thrive. Everyone deserves to identify themselves for themselves, and to be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. I am an ally to the LGTBTQIA+ community, believe in racial justice as a practice, am a fierce advocate for reproductive rights, and support our immigrant neighbors.
Access to abortion is a constitutional right, and the choice of abortion should be at the sole discretion of the individual. I proudly serve as the Vice President on Abortion Action Missouri’s board and had a leadership role in the passage of Amendment 3.
I support establishing strict regulations, within the confines of Missouri state preemption laws, for crisis pregnancy centers (also known as “fake clinics”) that spread misinformation and promote shame surrounding reproductive healthcare decisions.
I support building a local registry of mental and physical care providers that are LGBTQIA+ friendly and that offer gender-affirming care.
Trans rights are human rights.
All public buildings should have gender neutral restrooms.
I support fully funding and staffing the City’s Department of Health to address the City’s rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), which are among the highest in the nation. I would support funding that would allow the city’s Department of Health to also provide clinical services.
-
HOUSING AS A HUMAN RIGHT
I envision a city where every person has the type of housing that they need. Before my election, shelters, transitional homes, group homes, and boarding homes were completely banned or extremely limited in our city’s zoning. This means we had a process that not only served as a barrier to housing but that also was not transparent.
I’m proud to have championed and successfully passed Board Bill 114, which amended our city’s zoning code and helps our city to have a transparent, community centered process for the housing needs of our residents.

EFFICIENT CITY SERVICES
Residents should not have to worry about if the city will do one of our basic duties which is to provide efficient services.
Trash collection should not have to be something that any resident has to worry about. I am in support of transitioning to universal dumpsters to allow for us to more efficiently collect waste, and reduce replacement costs and delays.
I support increasing pay and benefits for all city workers, including supporting a citywide minimum wage of $15 an hour.
